A Career in Executive Compensation

What We’ve Been Up To

Outside of our client work, we collectively participate in several events throughout the year including an annual beach day, community service events, and more! Check out some of our recent events below. We also contribute internally to a number of industry-focused publications.

Milestones 1, 2, and 3 (May, June, and August 2017)

The first three anniversaries of employment at Semler Brossy are marked with two-day Milestone events dedicated to supplemental training on a specific subject. This year, each “class” headed out to Santa Monica, San Diego, or Santa Barbara for training, coupled with fun events such as brewery tours and comedy shows, to celebrate their tenure at the firm.

Magic Castle (April 2017)

In the spring, we ventured into the realm of the occult (Hollywood to the uninitiated) for an enchanted night at Los Angeles’ storied Magic Castle. While the seemingly inexplicable phenomena we witnessed throughout the multiplex rooms of this labyrinthine LA institution were (we’re pretty sure) only illusions, the fun we had was very, very real.

Reading to Kids (March 2017)

For its Q1 event, our Social Impact Team organized an event with Reading to Kids, a grassroots organization that holds monthly reading clubs at eight elementary schools across Los Angeles. Our group of volunteers read to first, second, and fourth graders at Magnolia Elementary. We even had the chance to create crafts with the kids at the end of the reading session, including maracas and paper lanterns!

Jersey Day (February 2017)

In celebration of Super Bowl LI, we held our second annual Jersey Day on the Friday before the big game. We had a lot of fun representing our most beloved teams and players and finding out (and occasionally making fun of) each other’s favorites.

Holiday Party (December 2016)

The highly anticipated SBCG holiday party did not disappoint. The annual bash is held at a different location in Los Angeles each year. There was dinner, dancing and a photo booth (fun in the moment, even better in the aftermath), but the highlight of the evening was founder Rich Semler’s famed port toast—a tradition since the company’s founding.
